Summary
Smrka is a small rural settlement in the hinterland of the bay of the same name. It belongs to the area of former shepherds’ dwellings connected with the school at Blaca.
The settlement of Smrka, Smrka Bay and the military tunnel are three distinct places.
Houses in the hinterland
The municipal description includes Smrka among the shepherds’ dwellings of the interior of Brač. Public maps show two nearby groups of houses under the same name. The pin is a shared reference point for them and does not imply that the boundary of the historic settlement is known.

Educational connection with Blaca
Pustinja Blaca (Blaca Hermitage) also served as a school for children from nearby hamlets. A specialist account of the heritage explicitly names Smrka along with Obršje and Dragovode. This everyday connection is part of the area’s history, regardless of visits to the museum today.

Distinguishing the settlement from the coast
Smrka Bay lies lower on the coast and has its own record. Its marker cannot serve as the centre of the dwellings. Check local paths before approaching the groups of houses, respect private land and do not enter damaged buildings.
