History and purpose
Silvio Hermitage lies west of Dragon's Cave. A publicly available scholarly study gives its founding date as 1477 and associates it with the brothers Juraj and Pavao Silvio, while another survey records a community of female hermits living there.
Structure and traces of the past
The hermitage belonged to a network of secluded communities on Brač whose daily life combined prayer, farming and the management of their own properties. After the community ended, the site gradually fell into ruin; recent scholarly work describes ruins without active restoration.
Access and visiting
This is a fragile ruin in difficult-to-reach terrain. The map shows only an approximate area; check for a safe route before setting out and do not enter unstable parts of the structure.
