Summary
Today’s parish church in Dračevica took over the role of the older sanctuary of Sts Cosmas and Damian. Liturgical life and the carrying of the statues connect the two buildings.
The new and old churches form a connected story of the local parish.

A later parish centre
The Church of the Immaculate Conception (Crkva Bezgrešnog začeća) was built after the older Church of Sts Cosmas and Damian. Sources differ on the year of construction and when it took over parish functions: 1738 and 1770 are both given. It can safely be placed in the later, eighteenth-century phase of the village’s development.
Connection with the older sanctuary
The statues of Sts Cosmas and Damian are carried to the parish church during the celebration of the patron saints and returned to the older sanctuary. This practice connects the buildings and the community through an event that takes place in the actual village setting.

An active church and access
A new baptistery was blessed in the church in 2023. The building is used for worship and community life; visits to the interior should be arranged around the parish schedule. A map outline does not necessarily mark an entrance.
