History and purpose

The Church of Sts John and Paul in Ložišća was built in 1820. It belongs to a religious complex that also plays an important part in the village’s identity.

Structure and traces of the past

The Baroque façade and stone courtyard lead to its most striking feature: the bell tower designed in 1899 by the sculptor Ivan Rendić. Local tradition recalls how the whole village helped finance its construction over the years through contributions of wine and olive oil.

Access and visiting

The church stands in the centre of Ložišća. Check the parish schedule before visiting the interior.
