Gift and installation
In December 2023, the municipal council accepted Galijot as a gift from Vladimir Herljević. Its position was set at a prominent point on the newly built pier beside Put Macela, in Soline. A later municipal report states that it was installed in March 2024.
The sculpture and the pier
The bronze figure stands on a stone pedestal in the coastal area used by the harbour promenade. It is one of Herljević’s series of gifts to Pučišća, which also includes Na suncu (In the Sun) and Novi život (New Life). Each sculpture has its own title, material and location; they do not form a single monument.
Access and visiting
The sculpture stands on the pier by the coast, opposite the Stonemasonry School across the harbour. On Maps, it also appears under the descriptive name Statua Man. When visiting, leave room for harbour activities and do not climb on the sculpture or its pedestal.
