The Synod and diplomatic service

He served as apostolic nuncio in Ukraine and Germany, and from 2004 to 2013 as Secretary General of the Synod of Bishops. His resignation as nuncio in Germany was accepted on 9 April 2026 after he reached the age limit. His biography is therefore shaped by a succession of appointments.

Bringing his life story back to his home parish

The documentary film ‘Tiha moć’ follows his life from childhood on the island to international service and was shown in the Church of St Jerome in Pučišća. His home parish thus became a place of personal return and a public presentation of a Brač biography.
