The Mediterranean, the cross and traces
His paintings draw on motifs from ancient temples, early Croatian churches and Renaissance buildings. He combines geometric structures with lyrical details, while the cross and wartime imagery became more prominent in the early 1990s. Rich colour characterizes his later compositions.

Painting in the theatre space
He created ceremonial theatre curtains in Split, Dubrovnik and Rijeka, brought together under the title ‘Jadranski triptih’ (‘Adriatic Triptych’). These works connect painting with architecture and public space. In his biography, Milna is his birthplace, from which his interest in Mediterranean heritage extends to other cities.
