Remembering the defence of Brač
The Sutivan Tourist Board connects this place with an air-defence position during the Croatian War of Independence and the deaths of two defenders. Plaques beside the approach show events related to fighting in the Brač Channel.
The park is a memorial site. The commemoration on 17 November brings together people to remember the defenders of Brač; the place should not be viewed simply as a viewpoint along the way.
Stone Knight and the landscape
Stone Knight (Kameni vitez) is a work by Brač sculptor Lovro Jakšić. Together with the plaques and the landscaped approach, it forms an outdoor memorial complex.
Golo brdo is part of Sutivan’s coastal hinterland, with views towards the channel and the surrounding islands. The memorial space brings together the stone sculpture, plaques and access path.
Access and visiting
Stay on the existing approach and respect the memorial signs. Bring water in hot weather; do not leave the path through dense vegetation. During commemorations, give priority to participants.
