Research on Rendić and Meštrović

Ivan Rendić was the subject of his 1970 doctoral thesis. Kečkemet also studied Ivan Meštrović, to whom he dedicated a book. This is a documented research connection with the work of two sculptors, not a claim that they created works together.

Heritage, the city and images

He wrote about Dalmatian art, urbanism, maritime iconography, photography and film, and the history of Split’s Jewish community. The breadth of his interests connects individual works of art with the history of cities and everyday life. In 2010, he received a state lifetime achievement award for this sustained scholarly work.
