The gallery and the palace
The gallery was founded in 1963. A report by the Brač Cultural Centre describes the display across three floors of the Baroque palace and mentions the year 1694 in connection with the building. The Museum Documentation Centre lists the gallery as a specialised art institution within the Brač Cultural Centre.
The art collection
The gallery includes works by Dešković, including animal subjects, and works by artists connected with Brač and 20th-century Croatian art. Reports highlight Ignjat Job, Ljubo Ivančić, Valerije Michieli, Ivan Rendić and other artists. The works currently on display may change because of loans and temporary exhibitions.
Access and visiting
The gallery is in the centre of Bol, beside the harbour waterfront. Check current opening hours, admission and programme with the Brač Cultural Centre. Older reports document the history of the collection, not today's visiting schedule.
